I was told that it was compatible - another source has confirmed for me that it should be.
If it isn't what you need or doesn't work, you should be able to exchange it or get a refund: http://store.hp.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ContentView?eSpotName=ReturnsandExchanges&storeId=1015...
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

hi,
i can confirm that the larger silver model that is being sold at Best Buy for 59.99 works very well, I tried it out yesterday at the store and purchased it, they had the Spectre 360 at the store as well, I will be receiving mine later today, but I can tell you that it worked very well for navigating through the regular menus, worked very well on Microsoft one note and evernote, it fit extremely snuggly in the loop that comes with the Microsoft surface 3, which I'm thinking about buying and attaching to the Spector 360.
I hope that helps.

That is GREAT news!
I got my spectre from fedex yesterday and I was talking to customer service about trying to get a pen instead of the 10% off coupon they gave me for delayed shipping, and they called me and told me that the pen wasnt compatible, really bummed me out.
Good to know that this isnt the case, one of the main things that narrowed my choice to the HP was the availability of pen input.
And sorry for the odd text formatting, i get an "improper HTML" error everytime i try to post.

I've had my HP Spectre x360 for 3 days now. Love it. I also purchased the HP Active Stylus, Model: J4R51AA#AB ($59).
It works great. It also can use pen pressure to vary width of line in certain painting programs. I use Sketchable by Silicon Benders.

I have just gotten a spectre x360, and the hp active pen. I can say it works, with the following points:
It does NOT have the old wintab drivers needed for some older software, such as gimp and Blender 3d. It will work with the onenote, photoshop subscription, artrage, and Sketchbook pro 7. More specificly, te PEN will work, but with no pressure sensitiviy levels.
The pen takes some getting used to. It's not quite like a wacom in how it handles. Not bad, just notably differant.
Onenote has the best palm rejection out of all of them.
Overall, great device.

Well, despite what others are saying...I bought the HP Active Pen from Best Buy to go with my new HP Spectre 360, and it did NOT work for me. This is the newest version of the Spectre, with the i7 processor. Perhaps the newer screens are different?
