I am unable to change the brightness of my laptop screen. When I use the the brightness keys, the level indicator goes up and down, as though the brightness of the screen were changing, but the brightness remains at 100%. the same happens when I try to change the brightness through the power settings.
I have tried uninstalling the pnp driver and updating it, but this hasnt helped
thanks for any advice!

I have the same problem but I couldn't fix it after I disabled then enabled the monitor pnp again. Every time I try to adjust brightness the screen goes bright for few seconds then the light decreases again like flashing
