HP Pavilion G6
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I wanted to clear some issues about my HP Pavilion laptop,

I have searched online and most things havent worked for me, I have realised that my wifi usually goes to limited connectivity when either I take my laptop off my lap and place onto my bed (perhaps its because the fans cannot push the hot air out because they are being blocked?) and when I put my charger in.

To temporarily fix this I have been going onto the "Network and Sharing Centre" and disabling and re-enabling my wifi, however sometimes I have noticed that I disable it and when I try to re-enable it stays as disabled so..

I hope someone from the support team can help me out, thanks.

Also, I have realised that this is only for the wifi, if I plug in the Ethernet cable it works fine, but someone else in my home uses the Ethernet regularly so I am forced to use the wifi, hope this narrows down the solutions

Hi @mazedur,

Do you have any devices connect USB?

Is there anything that has yellow caution in the Device Manager?

Here is a document that shows you how to restore BIOS factory default settings. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook and has helped others.

You could try downloading and running this from Microsoft.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Sorry Mrstenter but I have another problem, whenever I go on my wifi connection it seems that every other connection shows up apart for the wifi connection I usually use, I think this occurred due to me frequently using the Ethernet cable on my laptop, how can I bring the wifi connection back?
