HP ENVY dv6-7214nr Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a ralink rt3290 802.11bgn network adapter and would like to upgrade to 5ghz.  Is this upgrade possible with my laptop, and which network card do you recommend?  I would like to buy the best one for picking up weak signals as my Wifi hardly reaches to my garage.  Thanks.

Hi @gstone32926,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome.

I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY dv6-7214nr Notebook and wanting to replace the Wlan card. Here is a link to your service manual Page 57 for replacement Wlan card.

But, I have got to tell you that it might not make a difference in your garage. I tried that with mine and it did not help due to the cement and metal in the garage.

I hope this does help you.
