HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer

HP OfficeJet Pro 6968:  A LOT of ink is pooling at the bottom of the printer.  Searches on the internet suggest this is normal.  Also, a post on the HP site says the same thing.  What happens when there pool starts to overflow on to the desk it sits on?  Seems that there should be a maintenance or cleaning procedure for this issue.

Hi @Dave187,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Yes, that's right. The area with the ink where the cartridges park is the service station.  It is normal for ink to be in this area - that is where ink is "spit" to keep the nozzles clear.  Running cleaning cycles will deposit ink in this area, as will the normal servicing.

It is not necessary or desirable to clean the service station area.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
