HP Photosmart C4780
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently connected my HP Photosmart C4780 to my new computer running Windows 10 (64-bit) and downloaded the HP software to try and connect it to my PC. Somewhere along in the process, things got messy and now the printer will not fully boot up. I think it might have been when I tried to connect it to my wireless network. It gets stuck on the loading screen with the HP logo. I am able to print from the computer, but I can't scan or use the menus on the printer because it is not fully loading. When I reconnect the printer to my old computer (Apple IMac from 2009), it says that the printer is going offline and I can't print anything. I have seen a lot of threads where people ask for factory reset instructions and they are provided via PM. Can I please get these instructions?

Thank you,

Matt Strand

The solution in this archived post solved my issue. The update seemed to run forever, so I unplugged the printer power (or usb, or both? I can't remember, sorry) while it was still running the update and plugged it back in. It then printed a device update report, and seemed to hang again. I unplugged the printer again, and when I plugged it back in, the update software thought there had been a communication issue and wanted to try again. I said no, since the printer now seems to be working again. I'll update this post if I have any more problems.
