I have a HP deskjet 2512 (yes it is old but still worked great with my old Mac). I upgraded to a Mac mini OS Sonoma 14.2. Tried to add my printer, (it is connected via USB) and it says it’s connected. When I try to print, it sends it to the queue and is “printing” for about a second then disappears from the queue. Nothing prints. I’ve tried the HP Easy start, install essential software, then try to add device and it says “cannot configure the device software”. I have tried to reinstall multiple times with same result. I have tried hard restart, I’ve tried resetting printer system in settings and restarting, then adding the printer in settings again. I’ve tried to download HP smart app, but since I’m connecting via USB instead of internet, this doesn’t seem like the right option. Nothing seems to work.
