E0 Error on Hp deskjet2700. I had just bought a new black ink cartridge about an hour ago and this error never happened to me before. Now the orange light beneath the colored cartridge symbol keeps flashing but I don’t have any color cartridge installed since last summer. I unplugged the printer, installed, and cleaned my cartridge but it still doesn’t work.

Hi @taetae1 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing some frustration with your HP DeskJet 2700 printer showing an E0 error despite installing a new black ink cartridge. The flashing orange light beneath the colored cartridge symbol suggests that there might be an issue related to the color cartridge slot, even though you haven't installed a color cartridge recently.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed in the designated slot. Sometimes, cartridges may not be fully inserted or clicked into place, causing detection errors.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Wipe the copper contacts on the black ink cartridge with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or residue that may be interfering with the connection.
  • Reset Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear error messages.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and bugs. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Inspect for Jammed Paper or Debris: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper or debris inside the printer, especially around the cartridge area. Remove any obstacles that may be hindering the cartridge movement.

I hope this helps.
