HP Envy Photo 6234

Over night the printer had started to display "Error Code 0xB85DBAAE" (nothing else), and there was no apparent user interaction that caused this.  I am not 100% sure, but I think the Wifi lamp was flashing.

Restarted the printer and it all seems ok.

I can not find any reference to this code - does anyone know what it means?

Cheers, Ian

This error is related to the connectivity.

Let's try to restore the printer to the original network settings

1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch ( Settings ).

2. Touch Restore Network Settings, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

3. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

Connect the printer back to the network.

Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-series/9073045/model/1731...

Restart the printer.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To resolve the issue, reset the printer, and then turn off IPv6 through the Setup menu on the control panel.

Step 1: Reset the printer

To temporarily clear the error, reset the printer.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

    NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Turn off IPv6

Use the control panel to turn off the IPv6 setting.

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Network Setup, and then touch Advanced Settings.

  3. Turn off IPv6, and then touch Yes to confirm.

Hi Raj, thank you - I have turned off IPv6.

Hard to tell if this fixes the problem, as I only had it once since I bought the printer several months ago.

What does that error code actually mean?

Cheers, Ian
