HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

Receiving Error oxc4eb8004.  I have tried unplugging the printer several times - it has not resolved the issue.  I cannot remove the printer cartridges because the printer is completely frozen and the cartridges will not slide to the center where they can be accessed.

I understand you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP ENVY 5055 printer. The error code "oxc4eb8004" typically indicates a hardware problem, often related to the ink system. Since you've already tried unplugging the printer without success, here are a few more steps you can try:

 

  • Reset the printer: Sometimes, performing a hard reset can resolve issues like this. To do this, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it's still turned on. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn the printer on again.
  • Check for paper jams: Even if you can't see any paper jams, it's worth checking inside the printer for any small pieces of paper that might be causing a blockage. Use a flashlight to get a good look inside.
  • Manually move the cartridge carriage: If the cartridge carriage is stuck, you can try gently moving it manually. Be very careful when doing this to avoid causing any damage to the printer.
  • Clean the cartridge contacts: Sometimes, dirt or debris on the cartridge contacts can cause communication errors. Remove the cartridges and gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water. Make sure the contacts are completely dry before reinstalling the cartridges.
