Hi @murug ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering an "Ink Cartridge Failure" message with your magenta cartridge, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check for Compatibility: Ensure that the magenta cartridge is compatible with your printer model. Using an incompatible cartridge can cause errors.
  • Inspect the Cartridge: Remove the magenta cartridge from the printer and inspect it for any visible damage or leaks. If you notice any damage, such as cracks or leaks, replace the cartridge.
  • Clean the Contacts: Sometimes, the metal contacts on the cartridge or inside the printer may become dirty or covered in ink residue. Gently clean these contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear the error message.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware or drivers may resolve compatibility issues.  Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Try Another Cartridge: If possible, try using a different magenta cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the cartridge itself or with the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
