macOS 10.14 Mojave

My HP Photosmart 7525 suddenly displays “Recommends ColorLok paper” and now won’t print. It was printiyfine yesterday. How do I get the printer to work again without buying special paper?

Updating the printer firmware may resolve the issue, printer firmware updates have product enhancements and issue fixes. You may download and install the latest printer firmware update from here

You can also try power resetting the printer, reloading the paper and cleaning the paper feed rollers. Instructions on how to reset the printer, clean the rollers and reload the paper can be found here

Neither suggestion helped solved this problem. The Firmware update said: "This Firmware Updater does not contain upgrades for your device."

 

I did try ColorLok paper and the printer still gives me the same error message and still does not print.

I'm afraid, it's a possible paper sensor failure. Please call your regional HP Support to obtain all available repair/replacement options. You may use the following steps to contact your regional  Support:

1) Click on this link - 

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
