Hi @MindyJo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the touchscreen on your HP 4650 printer isn't lighting up when plugged in, there could be a few potential reasons for this issue.

  • Power Supply Issue: Ensure that the power outlet you're using is functioning properly. Try plugging in another device to see if it works. If not, there might be an issue with the outlet or the power cord.
  • Faulty Power Cord: Check the power cord for any visible damage or frayed wires. If there's any damage, it might be causing a short circuit and preventing the printer from receiving power.
  • Printer Hardware Issue: There could be an internal hardware issue with the printer itself, such as a faulty power supply unit or a malfunctioning circuit board.
  • Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve minor issues. Try unplugging the printer from the power source, waiting for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the internal circuitry and resolve the problem.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address bugs and issues that might be causing the touchscreen to not light up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
