My printer keeps getting “Printer failure” messages. I’ve tried everything but the screen is frozen on that error message. Nothing works. and now they keep billing me for ink and I keep getting messages to “upgrade” to a new printer. I’ve tried calling and no one answers. I’ve tried the live chat and she said she couldn’t help at all. What do I do? I need to cancel my instant ink and I want a refund because they billed me for the upcoming month, even though this printer does not work.

Thanks for explaining the situation. I have tagged the moderators and asked them to have someone from HP reach out to you. This process will likely take a couple of days and you will likely get a private message. On a peer to peer group that is the most I can do to help resolve your issue.

@ASH6137, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand your concern. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - 'Printer Failure' Error

If the printer is not working, Instant Ink server will not know about it. You will have to get in touch with the Instant Ink department and inform the same so that you wont be billed for the period. It is a monthly subscription plan.

If the printer is out of warranty, HP support cannot help you free of cost. In this case, even I suggest upgrading the printer.

However, if the printer is under warranty, you don't have to worry at all. The printer will be replaced by HP free of cost.

You may contact the Instant Ink department in your region regarding the billing concern. The contact information can be found on the home page of Instant Ink. Click here or go to HP Instant Ink support

You may use this link to find the phone number of the regional HP Support team: HP Phone Assist Worldwide

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
