HP OfficeJet 6958
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’ve been having this issue for a few weeks now but I couldn’t seem to find any fix to it. I’ve tried searching through many forum posts and looking at any fix possible, none worked.

When turning the printer on, it’ll prompt the message saying there is a “Paper Jam”. Upon checking for any, led me to absolutely nothing. So I ignored it.

Once I tried printing, it’ll appear an error message saying, “Printer Failure - 0x6100004a ...”. Every time I tried and tried, it led me to the same error message constantly.

Any help is appreciated, I’m not really a tech guy so apologies for that.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Remove the ink cartridges, and reset the printer

  1. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  6. Turn the printer on.

  7. Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration or alignment page, do so.

I have tried every suggestion given. Unplugged and rebooted many times and still error code. There is no paper jam. I cannot move the printer cartridges to the left so I cannot remove those to see if it helps.

Is this printer dead? Is this a waste of time to try to figure out on a printer that is out of warranty?

Did you find a fix in the end? I have exactly the same problems...
