Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The other day when I went to print something, I found that my printer (Officejet Pro 8610) was displaying the following message: "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed."

The message always appears, but sometimes it has an error code listed below it, and sometimes it doesn't. So far, I've received the following error codes, all of which appeared below the initial message: 0xc19a0023, 0xc19a0035, and 0x0.

I have tried all the available solutions I could find, such as the one that involves unplugging the printer and the one that involves lifting the carriage latch and shifting the printhead, as well as updating the printer drivers, none of which solved the issue. Any additional help would be appreciated.

Hi @Karrahbear12,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.

This looks like a potential hardware issue.

However, as a last resort, let's perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name, or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
