My DeskJet4152e recently began printing printer information pages and alignment pages out of nowhere. What is causing this?

Hi @carlasma,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4152e is experiencing an issue that could be related to a few different factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Check for Error Messages: Look at the printer display and computer for any error messages that could explain why these pages are printing.

Restart the Printer: Simple but often effective—turn your printer off, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can help reset the printer’s internal state and resolve temporary glitches.

Check the Printer Queue: Make sure there aren't pending print jobs in the queue that are triggering these pages to print. You can view the queue by clicking on the printer icon in the system tray on your computer, or through the control panel under 'Devices and Printers'.

Printer Settings: Sometimes, setting changes can cause the printer to start printing these pages. Access the printer settings through your computer or the printer's control panel and look for any settings that might be causing automatic printing of information or alignment pages.

Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. HP often release updates to fix bugs or improve performance. You can check for firmware updates on the HP website or through the HP Smart app.

Alignment and Calibration: If the printer is stuck in a loop of printing alignment pages, try completing the alignment process. Place the alignment page on the scanner glass and follow the on-screen instructions to scan it. This might stop further alignment pages from printing.

Reinstall the Printer: Sometimes removing and reinstalling the printer on your computer can resolve underlying issues. Remove your printer from 'Devices and Printers' in Control Panel, and then add it again.

Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the printer. Check for any visible signs of damage or malfunction.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
