HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

My HP officeJet Pro 6978 all in one printer says I have a paper jam. There is no jam.  Tried turning it off and on but still get the same message. Trying to shut it down again but it won't shut down. Unplugged it and still get the paper jam message when turned on. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Community --

 

If the printer is convinced there is a paper jam it won't work properly until persuaded differently.

If not done, Complete the steps meant to clear the problem.
