HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer

The printer will not turn on and I can't print.  It will print the error report that tells me Printer cannot print.  The 'i" button flashes.  the light under the HP on the front of the printer is currently orange.  When I try to power on the printer it will show blue momentarily.  This printer is still under warranty.   I've reloaded the HP Smart but it probably would work if I could get the device to power on.

Hi @LindaRu,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be a hardware issue with your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer, Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Power Cycle: Unplug the printer from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve temporary issues.
  • Check Power Source: Ensure that the power outlet you're using is functioning properly. Try plugging another device into the same outlet to confirm.
  • Inspect Power Cable: Check the power cable for any visible damage or fraying. If you have access to another power cable that fits your printer, try using it to rule out a faulty cable.
  • Reset Printer: Many printers have a reset button or sequence. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  • Remove Additional Devices: If there are any additional devices connected to the printer (USB drives, memory cards, etc.), remove them and then try powering on the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
