Sometimes, maybe one out of 20 or 30, the printed page has two images offset about 1/4 in., left to right. (The OS is 10.13.2, not an option on this site.) Here's an example:

Hi @dr_dave,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I understand that you are facing the print quality issue.

Don't worry I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridge?

Have you tried changing the settings on the printer?

Follow the below steps to fix the issue.

Resetting the printer can force some types of scanners to calibrate, which might fix the problem.

  1. Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  4. Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

  6. Try to print.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful.

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
