Hello! Quick question: does the printer need the black AND colour ink cartridge inserted to print? Or would the printer still print with the colour ink cartridge removed?

I'm in the process of selling this printer and have been asked this question.

I could've removed the colour cartridge to try out myself, but my next question would be if I can re-insert a nearly full cartridge once I've taken it out?

Thanks, Connie

Hi Connie,

The printer supports reserve mode, meaning you may remove one cartridge from the printer and print in backup mode with a single cartridge only (either black only or Tri-Color only).

And regarding your second question, you may reinsert a used cartridge and use it with no issues, assuming the cartridge is functional, be aware that keeping an open and used cartridge out of the printer may cause the ink to dry up after some time..
