Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, the black ink is not printing.

Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Printer Reset -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Step 2 Clean the printhead -
1) On the printer control panel, press the Setup button.
2) Press the down arrow to highlight Tools, and then press OK.
3) Press the down arrow to highlight Clean Printhead, and then press OK.
The printer cleans the printhead and then prints a test page.
4) Evaluate the test page for print quality.

If the issue still persists, try cleaning the printhead manually -

Refer to step# 8 from this document.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

The print heads are not clogged.

I have discovered a sizeable blob of sticky black ink under the back right corner of the printer.

Time for a new printer????

If so, VERY UNHAPPY....just purchased new ink cartridges............I will NOT be purchasing another HP printer.
