A sample would be useful as the nature of the lines can provide clues. Sharp defined lines usually indicate a driver issue causing the printer to produce extra print that is not part of the document. Intermittent or smeary lines are the sign of something stuck to the bottom the print carriage, be it a bit of paper that is soaked with ink or some other contamination.
