Does the paper go through the printer but come out blank? If so, the top of form sensor under the print cartridge could be either dirty or failed. Open the cartridge door and remove the toner. Life the metal plate and you will see a flag in the middle. Make sure the flag moves smoothly. if it moves, try blowing some compressed air down past the flag into the body of the printer. In the printer diagnostics there is also a sensor test for this sensor. The bad news is if the sensor has failed, it is a major pain to replace and the HP service manual states that failure of this sensor means the printer is finished.  So if the flag tests good, look for other flags in the paper path that might not be operating properly.
