Hello,
I currently have the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 17-cd1007na with a Windows 10 install. It currently has 2x 4GB Micron Technology 3200MHz.
I was thinking of putting in the bleow Ram
or
Would I be able to add this amount to the RAM? Or if these are not appropriate could you please point me towards one that would be supported (I am looking at wanting at least to double what I currently have installed)

Hi,
I would choose the ones from Crucial as the Kingston ones use XMP to reach 3200MHz
Here are examples of RAM
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp-compaq/pavilion-17-cd1007na
So the ones from Amazon shall work.
On page 31 of service manual you can see steps to replace the RAM

Hope it helps,
David

HI,
Thank you for your quick reply.
This might sound like a silly question but the book says it supports up to 32GB DDR4-2666 dual-channel support. But my Laptop says I have 3200MHz installed (Information provided by the HP Support Assistant via clicking on the device's specifications within the app) Does that mean I have the wrong RAM in there (although I have not added any since I bought it from Curry) ? or does it just mean that my laptop is limiting the RAM to 2666.
I'll take a look at that link you gave and look to buy either two 8GB or two 16GB
Thanks

You're welcome.
Yes. the speed set for your notebook is 2666MHz.
RAM is designed to run at different speeds. So the 3200MHz inserted will also run at 2666MHz (one of the preset speeds)
You can just insert the Crucial RAM and it will run at 2666MHz
You can not make the RAM run at 3200MHz.
Hope that makes sense 😃
