Fine yesterday, today problem started with no yellow.  Went thru process to clean heads and got a little better on the test page.  Cleaned heads again and now no yellow or blue.  Cleaned heads 3rd time and same thing--no blue or yellow.  All HP Original print cartridges are new and/or full.  HP On-Line Help didn't.  Any suggestions much appreciated.

Hey @Rlo346,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you are having some issues with the print quality when printing to your Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, this document outlines how to troubleshoot print quality issues with your printer.

If after following the above you are still unable to print correctly, the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP Support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom to discuss options based on your warranty.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to improve the quality or reach some resolution, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Did as you directed: (1) Removed printer from surge protector although the printer worked before going through the sp. (2) Went to the HP link you provided but could not (it would not) align print heads.  Note that i had been there before trying to get help.

My next step was to use the "HP Print & Scan Doctor", which showed "Everything checks out okay with your product."  Did another test print (the 6th or 7th) and still no blue or yellow.  Then I watched the 6.5 minute video from your site on how to install print cartridges and print heads.   Very useful; pulled both "old" print heads,  then gently cleaned and shook them, and reinstalled.   Automatic alignment and cleaning worked...test page was very acceptable!  Thank you for helping me...no need for a new printer yet!
