Yesterday i bought an hp pavilion 15-e046 with intel HD 4000 + Amd Radeon HD 8670M as advertised.
Sadly i relized that amd graphics doesn't work AT ALL so i have to compromise with the weak intel HD 4000.
I tried everything. Driver updates and bios update.
I just can't disable intel graphics and use the amd dedicated graphics.
Well done HP.
If you can't support your products with the right software/drivers just give up from laptops.
I am a huge HP laptop fan for years but that was the end.

I am also stuck with the same problem. HP dont have a answer for this. They give a bunch of documents to understand what is switchable graphics. But none of them solved the issue.
Very much disappointed with HP.

Notebook HP Pavilion 15-e059sr. intel HD 4000 + Amd Radeon HD 8670M
I have the same problem. Amd graphics doesn't work at all!!! Performance parameters ignored. All app's work on Intel graphics.
DirectX version 11, all drivers are lastest version, downloadad and installed from hp support site.
There is no Fixed mode in currrent/lastet BIOS version.
I can't use my laptop.

I have exactly the same problem! Been through all possible scenarios to get this to work, but no joy.
I am so frustrated and just want to throw this Pavilion 15 in a pool of water. And the documentation shows screenshots of options that does not exist. Do they even test the stuff before release???

Switchable Graphics
To resolve an issue with Switchable Graphics there are different parts that need to be checked depending on what is causing your issue will depend on when you stop going through the steps below. When your issue is resolved you can stop following the steps.
Before you start in the HP Support document titled Overview of Switchable Graphics or Dual GPUs if you go down to the subject “Determine if your computer has switchable graphics” you should determine if you have Switchable Graphics on your system.
Step 1. Ensure BIOS is updated. You can check to see if there is a BIOS update for your computer by using the HP Support document titled Updating the BIOS. Steps on how to do this are contained within. (CAUTION!! Not all BIOS versions will have the Switchable Graphics option if you do not see it proceed as it is not necessary on all devices)
Step 2. The first thing we need to do is check the bios to see if we have the Switchable Graphics/Fixed Graphics options. You can access the BIOS by following the HP Support document titled BIOS Setup (F10) .
Step 3 Next lets ensure that all drivers are up to date starting with the Chipset drivers. Go to the HP Software Download Page and enter the model name. Choose “Go” Then Click on Drivers than in the drop-down box select your operating system and click Next. Scroll down and you will see all the drivers available for your computer.
Step 4. Now lets get the AMD APU and Radeon™ Graphics Drivers and check for AMD Catalyst Hotfixes that pertain to your graphics drivers. You should also download and install AMD System Monitor. If you have a previous version installed uninstall using the Windows uninstall before installing the new one.

Hi Dunidar.
I have complete all steps throught your instriuction.
BIOS version F.14. (model HP Pavilion 15-e059sr)
On drivers download page there is check for updates button, it tells me that there is no drivers update for my hardware.
I set hight perfomance for my application in Catalyst Control Center, but on start it's don't switch to Radeon.
In this document OpenGL Applications Cannot Use Discrete GPU with Intel + AMD Switchable Graphics HP confirmed that Dynamic mode for switchable graphics has some bugs.
Can you tell me: HP knows about this bug? Will be added option Fixed/Dynamic mode in next BIOS update?
If HP don't know about this bug what must i do to tell HP that Switchable graphics don't work? Must I contact Service center?

I have thought long and hard about a reply. Dunidar, first of all we would not be posting here if we did not search and try all the suggested "fixes" (more than once). Can I suggest you get a similar machine with a the same operating system and try to reproduce what we are getting before you suggest the same things we get over and over. The bottom line is that the drivers from HP does not work ( I don't even get the same screens in the Control Center as shown in the documentation and also not in the BIOS)
I am just so frustrated with this product and it seems that HP just don't care.

Every my post here in this forum was also regarding this same problem.
Tried everything.. so far nothing. Same combo, intel 4000 + amd 8670m.
Most of my posts were just ignored, and everything that is said here was also said before, with no results..

Btw, its been almost a month when I reported about this same problem... :mansad:
