HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer

Not having much luck through HP support channels and getting conflicting answers, so hoping someone here can help tell me if I'm on the right track now.

I've moved from the USA to Australia and originally tried to set up the printer I brought with me. Whenever I try to log into instant ink from Australia it takes me to the US site. If I try to register the account in Australia it tells me my email is in use.

I don't want to have to use a different email address for this, which is also ridiculous that HP would need someone to do this, and not have a better way. So, after being told that I need to get my HP account deleted and then country reset my printer, I thought i'd just to buy a new printer and work on the account side.

I bought a new printer in Australia, then after the US online support telling me that Australia needed to delete my account, and then Australia again telling me that it all had to be the US team, I've completed a (terrible) form that asks HP to delete my account so that I can hopefully re-register in Australia. Let's see how it goes. I've been told I can try to re-register my account once I get confirmation of deletion in 5-7 days.

I'm regretting not going to another brand at this stage because of the terrible international support aspect and flakey website, but was happy with the actual product, so persevering.

Hi @jljl1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for help with moving your instant ink account to another country.

Instant Ink accounts are linked to the country/region of your HP account.

  • To change the country/region for a printer in Instant Ink, add the printer to a different HP account that is in the desired country/region.
  • Cancel the original Instant Ink account to prevent continued billing. Enrolling the printer in a new account does not automatically delete the old account.
  • HP Instant Ink Platinum: The service is only available within the continental United States. If you move out of the service area, your subscription is cancelled and you may be charged an early cancellation fee.

Refer to this video link to Cancel the Instant ink subscription.

Refer to this link to re-enroll in instant ink for the new country once again.

Thanks for the reply Irwin.

I appreciate you taking the time, but this was the information I also found online, and as mentioned, I don't want to use a different account. I want it linked to my main email address, and think it's a ridiculous ask that someone should create a seperate email account just because HP can't easily reassign countries.

I have an account deletion task in progress which will hopefully allow me to do this. Just hoping it doesn't mess anything else up along the way.

Hi @jljl1,

I am sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble you are going through with the change the country.

Happy to hear that you are deleting your old account to use the same email to create a new HP account with the same email in the new region. I appreciate your efforts in working on it to fix it and If you need further assistance feel free to reach out to us.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
