My print defaults to microsoft on attempting to print emails (Optimum). How do I change the default to accept the HP Printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are trying to change the printer when printing emails from an Optimum account.
So that I can assist you better I have a few questions.
When you say defaults to Microsoft do you mean Microsoft XPS writer or One Note?
What web browser are you printing from?
When you go to devices and printers, is the 8610 set as the default printer?
