Hey @Prospect1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you have an error message on your Envy 5640 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, while the printer is powered on, remove the power cable from the back of the printer for one minute.

If after following the above the error is still present, the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP Support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom to discuss options based on your warranty.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to resolve your issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hi there.

I just unpacked a new printer purchased two days ago. I installed ink and inserted paper as per instructions. Then while downloading the software drivers for laptop and before establishing connection, the printer flashed up an error message (B815EDD6) and displays a message "There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer Off, then On". Please can you help?

I think it is the same issue as the previous comments, and I tried to unplug the power cable and turn back on again but nothing seems to work. It seems to initialise for a couple of seconds but then go into the error mode and I am having no success trying to fix the issue.

Has anyone any suggestions? Thanks a mil

Tadhg
