Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? It appears to me the printer is an inkjet model (rather than the Laserjet). Is the color cartridge HP or a third-party?
With more information I may be able to give a better answer, but based on what I see I would suggest cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridge and printer with a lint-free wipe as described below.
