Hi Maggie,

Try updating the firmware on the printer: Updating the Printer Firmware

Also do a power reset and ensure it's plugged in directly to a wall outlet.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

That would be all that I could think of trying.

If the issue continues, try printing from other programs. If the issue is within all programs, then call phone support for real time assistance with a technician.

Contact HP:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear

Welcome to the HP Community @MaggieMac27🙂

I came across your post about the printing issue and wanted to reply to help out with my suggestions. Please try the steps below, which should help any driver related conflicts that may be occurring on your Mac.

1. Reset the print system:

Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Fax (or Print & Scan) from the View menu.
Control-click on list of printers on the left side of the window, then choose "Reset printing system" from the contextual menu. OK the reset.

2. Restart the Mac

3. Run the Apple Software Update to add the printer (there are no full drivers for this printer on 10.7)

Try printing again and hopefully that works!:)

Hit the "Accept as Solution" if we've reached a solution, and the "thumbs up" to say thanks for my help.

No, it didn't work.  Unfortunately, as I suspected, resetting printing systems deleted ALL my printers.  Now I have to reinstall all my other printers. Why don't they supply full drivers for 10.7?
