I have set upupmy printer and it scans and prints in black correctly.
I have undertaken the alignmnet and clean cartridge, the test prints from this have colour but when I try to print colour docs or photos they only come out using the black cartridge. I have
Unchecked the Black & White check box still only Blackand white print,
The cartridges are new and the indicator reads nearly full, but as I said above they print the test pages in colour ok
I have now just installed a new colour cartridge and re alined stillwill not print photos or docs in colour
I'm going mad
What next please?

Hello @MrT1, Hope you are well!
Thank you for joining HP support forums. I will be glad to assist you 🙂
Did you try making a color copy from your printer? Place a color document face down on the scanner bed and touch the color copy option on the printer screen.
If the color copy comes out good, then the printer hardware is good and the issue would be with the print settings or the drivers. Try the steps below to fix the same:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
- Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
- Now try to print and check. Also, check the print settings here: http://hp.care/2eiIZhE
If the color copy also is coming out without color, then there could be an issue with the printer hardware. Try the steps here to fix the issue: http://hp.care/2e5FwH5
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Cheers 🙂
