Hi,
We currently have a HP Envy 4520 which does print, however won't scan or copy over the network.
I've downloaded and ran the HP Doctor tool, however this crashes on Windows Image Aquisition (WIA). Reading a few topics on here, I have restarted the following three services:
- Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
- Shell Hardwarew
- Windows Image Aquisition (WIA)
Once I initially completed the above, the scanner worked as expected. However after a reboot - the problem returned more severe. The Doctor program crashes at the same section and restarting the services fail to achieve anything.
All software and drivers are up to date by using what was provided on the HP website.
The error messages vary so for example in Adobe, I'd see "Unrecoverable Error. Operation Stopped"

hi @DocCottle
Thanks for your reply!
I managed to solve the problem. After resetting the windows services, you then need to ensure the printer reboots too! I wasn't doing that. Once done all is fine!

Hey @Adzie,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
I see that you are having some issues with scanning from your Windows 10 PC to your Envy 4520 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that, however I am going to need some clarification first. Please let me know if you are able to copy from the printer's front panel. Once I know that I will be better able to assist you.
I work on behalf of HP
