my elitebook 840 G5

Hi sir

 

I didn't know if it is suitable to write  comment described below  in this forumn.

if no, plese forgive me.

 

I am a IT company PM in taiwan .

I just bought a HP Elitebook 840 g5 notebook one month ago.

I must said , I like that one very much, Very beautiful and elegant appearance...

 

and what happend to me .here.......

 

1.in  20th Jul. , my 840g5 shutdown automatically in my bedroom
    and never return  back  .

    I send  this cold body to hp repair centre  in taiwan.

    they said mainboard is out of order,  need to be replaced with new one.

    and I got this back  after 10 days (1st , Aug.)

 

2.and oh no. my 840g5 is crash in 5th Aug. again

    I didn't know why .

    It come out with a burst of white smoke when i push power button.

    The 840G5 will have a burning smell !!!

    And the temperature of the device is very hot (repair centre can prove this)
    I am not sure if the device will burn itself.    

    I send to hp repair centre  in taiwan. AGAIN...

    they said mainboard is maybe out of order again,  need to be replaced with another new one.

 

3. I must guarantee that there is absolutely no artificial exploitation or improper use here.

 

4. when I talk to HP Customer Representative  yesterday

     I asked if I can have product replacement  (because I didn't knwo if I can trust the device again)

    they said no nessary.

     I didn't know Is the request I made reasonable?

     or I can only say that my luck is very bad.

So HP is replacing the motherboard? That is what their contract (warranty) says they have to do. They do not have to replace the whole unit, probably. You will probably be fine with a new motherboard, probably. I understand your frustration after 2 replacements.
