I have a new Pavilion 550-101 na Energy Star Desktop, i only bought this machine because my HP tower was 8.1 and the windows upgrade was driving me insane= not taking.
So i bought this PC, the small 119 gb SSD drive is useless it is alomost full and i have not finished moving my data over from the older version HP.
Plus i just want to use a PC with 2 TB as sold , instead the large D drive - 2TB is basically useless because everything on the perating system goes into C drive, i know there will be work arounds , however i'm a specialist in restoration of pre-1919 buildings , i haven't got time to get up to speed with how to link drives etc, it is a lousy design if the C drive was 1 TB i would be fine.
Now the **bleep** thing takes an age to start and it hangs, plus it is generally getting slower because the SSD drive is too small.
Is there anything that can be done apart from a different machine ? cheers
I understand that are facing low disk space and slow performance issues with your computer after changing the HDD. Happy to help.
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Recommend you to run a system test on your computer to make sure all components are working correctly. (If there is a failed component, your computer could perform slowly.)
To improve the system speed, try the steps mentioned in this article and run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated.
For assistance in overcoming low disc space error, try the steps suggested in this article.
Disclaimer: HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance. You can change the configuration at your own risk.
Personally, I would still use the small SSD for the operating system and use the 2TB HDD as storage. Move all the documents from the SSD to 2TB HDD for faster performance.
