LOW INK NOTIFICATION SPOILING WATCHING TV ON IPAD

HP Recommended
HP DESKJET 3636

I have an HP Deskjet 3636.   I use it to print from my laptop, iPad and iPhone.     If the ink is getting low I get a notification on the centre of my screen on iPad advising me ink is low and this flashes up every 60 seconds!     If I am watching a TV programme  on  my iPad it pauses the programme and I have to click on OK on message and then have to wait whilst programme starts up again.  It's an absolute pain.  It stops if I switch printer off - but that defeats the point of having a remote printer!

I know you are going to say - just replace the ink - but the notification comes up when there is plenty of ink still left.

Any help would be appreciated.

@J-GRAN

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP DESKJET 3636 Printer. I understand that you are getting low ink notification and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

Which app is installed on the iPad which gives you this notification.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

I understand the issue better now.

Restart the printer.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

       NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer.

Make sure the ink cartridges are correctly installed.

Clean the ink cartridge contacts.

Remove and then reinsert the ink cartridges again.

Align the ink cartridges.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.
