Crackling sound/Distorted Sound

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Description:
When playing music or watching videos with Windows Media Player, Microsoft Groove Music, or streaming media players like YouTube, the audio is distorted, and crackling or choppy sounds are heard. This occurs after the computer is upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary edition.

Operating Systems:

Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (64-bit)

Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-bit)

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, disable the DTS Audio enhancement option in the Control Panel.

1.Click Windows Start.
2.Click Control Panel.
3.Click DTS Studio Sound.
4.Select Listening Experience.
5.Uncheck the Audio Enhancements option.
6.Click Save to save the changes.
7.Close Control Panel.

Cheers!

1st - when is some kind of driver/soft update that resolves this issue coming out? 2nd - in case of 250 G4 latest update from HP/Windows Update is unusable without ehancements enabled, so I would advice to install one of the latest drivers from Realtek update channel which you can find on Update Catalog or tenforums. I am using version 7915 which brought back normal sound on sytem and youtube (mainly the volume and quality is the issue without DTS enhancement).

Crackling sound/Distorted Sound

Sadly, this did not help.  I had tried it before.

first off, I don't have DTS Sound, I have a Bang and Olufsen, but I think it's pretty close.  Even when everything is disabled on this Bang and Olufsen, it doesn't work.

Thanks for the try.

Have you followed the steps or tried it atleast?

Thank you for your help.

I have tried that driver, as well as the full packages from realtek.  nothing works.  (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/)

My current solution is to disable the device driver so that it doesn't sound like a chainsaw is running in the background.  I'm not sure who is at fault here...

Thank you again for your help.
