HDD failure: Boot disk not recognised, Jard Disk (3FO)

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As the internal HDD seems to be dead, I would like to replace it by another one.

Which alternative spare part can be used instead of the original, if a same type as the original can't be found?

Many thanks for Your reaction(s)

The constructor of the original HDD is Tochiba

Hi,

Any 2.5 inch SATA notebook 9.5mm thick hard drive would be good. At least 256gb capacity is needed for recovery media to successfully factory reset OS after replacement. If you have not created recovery USB after first setup of this laptop, you've to buy it from HP or third party sellers.

What is the exact full model name, product number of your laptop?

Western digital, HGST travelstar are good brands of hard drive.
