hp spectre x360 model 13-4005dx LCD digitizer replacement

I have  a hp spectre x360 model 13-4005dx and its LCD digitizer is cracked.

My lab top still has the warranty but the customer service told me it is not under warranty.

When I search the web too many people have the same problem. does Hp has any plan to solve this issue? 

how I can replace the digitizer, I went trough the pdf that you uploaded but there was nothing about changing the lcd digitizer.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Spectre x360 - 13-4005dx Notebook and the cracked LCD screen.  The new Panel will come with a display panel cable, microphones, hinges, webcam, and wireless
antenna cables and transceivers if ordering from HP. Other companies should be including these parts. I can not confirm any thing other than what HP does.

As you can see, the solution suggested by HP support is irrelevant to your question.

Yes you can buy a complete HP display assembly to HP but it will cost you $1000+, about 75-80% of the price of your laptop.

In addition, the forums are full of disgruntled HP client because of cracked digitizer for no reason.

It is a common default of this laptop. So the right way to go is to order the Digitizer alone from Amazon or Ebay, or else for about $100-150, and go see a specialist or do the repair yousrelf if you are able (see various videos on YouTube).

Of course Mrs Tenter would say that it would cancel the warranty. But HP’s warranty does not cover their faulty screen and the repair will cost you almost the price of the computer. So who cares about the warranty now?

So your only true options are: 1- to buy a new one, 2- you keep it like it, or 3- you repair it yourself.

Note: as the laptop has an history of physical damage now, I am not sure the remains of the laptop are under warranty anymore.

So, Good luck, but personally, having the same issue I repaired it for $150, took me two hours with a good tutorial.

I have searched but I couldn't find anything specifically for my laptop model. most of the tutorial is about the other models and completely different from what I have.
