HP officejet 5610 "Cartridge Error: refer to device documentation for troubleshooting"

Help! I've tried every single troubleshooting suggestion I can find, including replacing the cartridge, but nothing works.  Ideas???  I've tried resetting the printer but when I turn it back on, the error comes on.  I cannot get it to communicate with the laptop.  I have uninstalled it and just need to restart it to try the software piece, but if anyone has other ideas, please let me know.

I would suggest trying this document on cartridge alignment:

It may help resolve your issue. Let me know if it works for you.

No, I can't seem to do anything. No other features or functionality work.
