Inkt cartridge expired. Not possible to continue printing? (C5180)

HP Recommended

Dear all,

My printer shows the error message 'inkt cartridge expired...'. In the message it saids that I can continue by pressing on the 'OK' button. But when I press on 'OK', the printer stays at the same message and will not dissapear. Also other buttons will not function. On the support website it saids that you can still print after you press 'OK' to ignore the message. But somehow it won't... I still have inkt in the cartridge so that's not the problem.

I also have difficulties with turning the printer off when pressing the 'OFF' button. The printer will not response to that or to any other buttons on the printer.

I was wondering if this is issue is normal? Does it solve the problem to replace my inkt cartridges? (They're all expired except for yellow)

Thanks for the help.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel

I basically had this conversation with my stand-alone printer/scanner tonight.

Printer: Cartridge is expired.  Ok to Continue?

Me: Yes.  I am only scanning a document to a USB key.

Printer: Cartridge is expired.  Ok to Continue?

Me: Yes.  I am not going to even print. I just need to scan.

Printer: Cartridge is expired.  Ok to Continue?

Me: I DON'T NEED TO PRINT.  JUST LET ME USE THE SCANNER.

Printer: Cartridge is expired.  Ok to Continue?

Me: LET ME EFFING SCAN A DOCUMENT.

Printer: Cartridge is expired.  Ok to Continue?

Me: Ahh...You have just become the last HP product I will ever buy.

So, there you have it.  I have a Scanner that I have to keep continuously stocked with ink to use.

This is why I will never buy another HP product again.

I hope the desire to get one more printer cartridge out of me was worth losing a customer completely.
