HP Pavilion 23-p030na All-in-One Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I was messing around with Windows To Go and tried to create a SYSTEM partition on the external hard drive running Windows To Go. I used EasyBCD but accidently transferred the files of the SYSTEM EFI partition somehow. So when I restarted my computer, Windows would not load - and the Startup Menu to load things like the BIOS Setup/System Recovery wouldn't work either.

I've tried a BIOS recovery, which did actually start and restore my BIOS, but that didn't change anything else and I was still stuck on the same issue. I've looked around the internet for a fix but cannot find one. Could someone please explain what I should do?

My HP Computer model is: Pavilion 23

It is an all-in-one desktop and PC.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to reinstall W8.1.

Download the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below.

Download Windows 8.1 Disc Image (ISO File) (microsoft.com)

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you can use to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a free utility such as Rufus to create a bootable USB flash drive.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

When you get to the Install Now screen, if you want to try repairing your existing installation, click on the 'Repair this PC' option on the lower left side of the Window.

If you have to reinstall W8.1, after the installation has completed you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
