HP Platinum 12C app does not work properly

My old HP-12C app was not working properly so I just purchased and downloaded the HP Platinum 12C app onto my iPhone 6S running iOS 11.2.6. It has the same problem. Specifically, when you turn the iPhone sideways to make the financial calculator appear (so I can run CAGR calculations), the finacial calculator does not appear. The calculator stays in Portrait format rather than changing to Landscape format and displaying the wonderful financial calculator that i love so much.

 

Please tell me how to fix this problem. If it cannot be fixed, then I'd like a refund for the $16.99 that I just paid for the HP-12C app. Thanks!
