BIOS Beep Code on HP a6000 Desktop

Pavilion a6000 Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My mom has a HP a6000 Desktop PC that doesn't seem to boot anymore. When the PC is powered on it carries a long beep, silent, and then a long beep again and it repeats until you turn the computer off. I have checked every component unplugging and plugging them back in as I go. I have no documentation to go off of, don't know what the BIOS is so I can look up codes, etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,

VV

Try pulling out the RAM and inserting it back in.

To do this you must open your computer.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I have pulled all components out of the computer including the RAM. I inspected the contacts and everything is fine. The beep sounds the same regardless of whether there is one stick, two sticks or no sticks in.

BIOS Beep Code on HP a6000 Desktop

Hi @vincentvalentin,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

As I understand the beeping when I first turn on laptop on hp logo

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you know If your computer makes one or two short beeps while starting, and Windows still opens, the computer is indicating normal BIOS startup was successful?

This looks like a possible hardware failure with the PC. Before you could contact our HP phone support for further assistance. I would suggest you try these steps here:

However, If your computer does not start, a more serious hardware issue is likely occurring. Listen for beeps and look at the LEDs (light emitting diodes) near the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys, the battery, and the AC adapter to determine troubleshooting steps.

If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for available service related options.
