Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot access BIOS by using F10 which I remembered as standard for HP pcs.  If I need to reboot my PC from DVD to reinstall Windows I am out of luck.

Hello,

Welcome!

Probably you need to use Esc button first.

Here is how it works:

1. Please, shutdown the computer completely - using the power button

2. Power it back on.

2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one - probably in blue

3. Press/choose  F10  for BIOS settings

or F9 for boot device options

Re. F9 - you can use it directly for bootable media but for certain DVD and bootable media you may probably first need to visit BIOS and disable Secure Boot, enable Legacy mode. Details>> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03653226

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.
