Computer will not boot up

Pro Desk 400 G1T
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My computer will not boot up. I see 2 short white blinks then one beep. Can you tell me what I need to do? I cleaned the inside. Disconnected all the cables held down the button for 15 secs. reconnected and still the same.

Computer will not boot up

Is this: HP ProDesk 400 G1 Microtower PC

your computer?

Disconnect the power-cord.

Disconnect the disk-drive (power & data cables).

Disconnect the optical drive (power & data cables).

Remove the RAM.

Disconnect the mouse.

This leaves the monitor & the keyboard still connected.

Reconnect the power-cord.

Press the ON/OFF switch.

Tell us what happens.

Does anything appear on the screen?

Any "beeps" or any pattern of flashing lamps?

Hi Dean,

I took everything off.  I get the white light then it turns off and I get 5 red beeps.

From: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04405864.pdf?

your motherboard supports 4th Generation Intel processors.

From: HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - BIOS Beep Codes

The following beep codes can occur while restoring, flashing or updating the BIOS:

5 short beeps --> BIOS recovery successful

There are quite a number of "patterns" on that page.

Can you match your pattern to anything on that page?
