Hard disk error code translation

After startup issues and diagnostics, I was able to generate error code GLNJ3Q-78Q930-MFPV6J-61C603 from the Long DST test.

 

What does the code mean? How to proceed?

Along with the startup issues that you are having, it means that your disk-drive is in "imminent failure" status.

 

The only remedy is to replace the disk-drive.

 

Since your disk-drive has some "residual" life remaining, the quickest method:

 

  1. Purchase a new, compatible, disk-drive (same physical dimensions) from SEAGATE.
  2. Download the free SEATOOLS software from www.Seagate.com
  3. Temporarily connect the new disk-drive as a "secondary" disk-drive.
  4. Run SEATOOLS' "disk-cloning" software to make a block-by-block copy of the old disk-drive.  All your installed programs and personal files will be copied.
  5. Disconnect and remove the old disk-drive.
  6. Insert and connect the new disk-drive.
  7. Boot from the new disk-drive.
  8. Done.

If a few blocks cannot be copied, then 99.999% of the blocks will be copied.

Hopefully, the "missing" blocks are not critical to the running of Windows.
