Every time I start or restart my computer, I get a message before windows boots that says a fan is not operating correctly. I have to press enter to disregard the message or my computer shuts back down. All my fans are working correctly and can be controlled with the CAM software I'm using, so how do I get the message to stop? I've updated the BIOS already.

Hi,
I can only guess you will see this POST fan error message if you connect one or more chassis fans to the chassis smart hub.
The HP motherboard is looking for chassis fans. They don't exist.
I have no idea why you see a ghost fan in CAM. Never had this problem with a retail (Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI) MB.
Maybe a different forum member has more insight.

Hey, understand the confusion,
I bought a Pavillion desktop a couple of years back and upgraded the case and graphics card, but the motherboard and other parts are still the HP ones. I checked the smart hub on the case and only 2 fans were plugged in, still getting the message and "ghost fan" in CAM.
