Start up issues

I have the HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible PC.
I have a mostly black screen with “Boot Device Not Found”
I have followed the steps to re-boot by disconnecting everything & turn off, and hole power button for 15 seconds. Nothing changed—-still Boot Device Not Found
What’s to try next?

The message that you are receiving is telling you that the hard drive has failed.  You can go into the BIOS and use the SMART option to test it further.  Here is a guide to help you use SMART.  If it has failed, you should buy a hard drive that is the same size or larger to assure that the Recovery software will work properly.
